Ebony Ruby
The wand of injustice
bestowed a magical curse
that burn down the dreams
that linger in my head
I crawl under my bed
leaving my pillow
soaking in a river
of undaunted fears
drowning and wallowing
kissing the glare
of my ebony ruby
In the wink of daylight,
a pretension of a new day
blinded my pain with water
painted sugar in my kiss
I crawl under my bed
closing the windows
behind the debris
of an aging glass box
wandering and screaming
breaking the core
of my ebony ruby
